Conformation Shows

The Club conducts one Specialty Open Show and two Specialty Championship Shows each year in Brisbane. Entry in these events is available to all persons, Club members or otherwise, who meet the necessary requirements of the Canine Control Council (Qld).

In its attempts to further improve the standard and breeding of Dobermanns, the Club contracts the services of judges of international standing and reputation for its Championship event. Indeed, the Dobermann Club of Queensland's Championship Show is one of the highlights of the Australian Dobermann fraternity; invariably, exhibitors from all parts of Australia, and often overseas, attend this premier event.

The DCQ supports the Open Show format, which gives opportunities for aspiring breed judges the chance to better acquaint themselves with our breed.

The two Specialty Championship Show are a major event on the Dobermann Showing calendar and attracts a large entry from around the country.

Each year a breed specialist from either Australia and Overseas presides over judging. In the last few years, the DCQ has been fortunate to have judge at their Specialty; Mr Ray Carlisle (USA), Dr May & Mr Arnold Jacobson (USA), Mr Bill Garnett (USA), Mrs Sonja Sloan (NZ), Mrs Linda Krukar (USA), Ms Bonnie Clarke (USA), Phyllis DelMuro (USA), Ms Nancy Christensen (USA), Mrs Barbara Bender (USA) and Mr George Murray (USA).
